Three Level Bird Structures

Three story bird houses are three level bird structures with three functioning floors. A rear viewing door allows easy viewing of the baby birds on all three floors. A door knob, main latch, and two security latches ensures safety from predators and accidental opening of the door during high winds. Brass hinges enable a sturdy and dependable door design with a smooth swivel action.

Applying your own finish applications can be a fun and exciting activity for just about anyone. A three level birdhouse would certainly be a challenging project, but if you're up to the task, then we have a few unfinished multi-level bird structures you might be interested in.

Strength

Three story models are built from select pine and cedar wood. Since they are multi-unit structures, they must be built very strong. Standing 21" high, they are reinforced throughout the entire body, especially at the base. We construct them with industrial strength Titebond II (weather proof) wood glue, and reinforced with long fastener wood screws.

Purple Martins

There are many birds throughout the world that choose to either nest together, or nest within close proximity of each other. However, the majority of them are outside nest-builders, preferring not to use an enclosed structure. Among the social bird species that will chose an enclosed structure, are Purple Martins. They are very sociable, and thrive on being around each other, including nesting periods. If you have these flying acrobats in your neighborhood, they are a delight to see. They are dependent on multi-unit structures that are designed to accommodate their particular lifestyle.

Rear Window

A small window is also featured just above the rear viewing door. The window itself doesn't serve any purpose, just an added feature that makes the design stand out.
